How to Send Recurring Messages to Groups
What Are Recurring Messages?
Recurring messages let you automate sending messages to your WhatsApp groups on a schedule. You can set up:
- Daily — Every day at the time you choose
- Weekly — On the days of the week you select
- Monthly — Once a month on the chosen date
This is ideal for sending reminders, good-morning messages, notices, promotions, or any recurring communication without doing it manually every day.
Requirements
Before you start, make sure you have:
| Requirement | Description |
|---|---|
| STEVO Instance | An active instance on the unofficial API (stevo.chat) |
| GHL Connection | Connector High Level configured on your instance |
| WhatsApp Connection | Connector WhatsApp connected and working |
| Groups Feature | The Groups tab enabled in your STEVO panel |
If you don't have an instance yet or haven't made the required connections, check out our getting started tutorials to learn how to set everything up.
Step by Step
1. Access the STEVO Panel
Log in to your dashboard at stevo.chat with your instance already configured and connected.
2. Go to the Groups section
In the side menu, click Groups. If the feature is disabled, enable it. All groups found on your phone number will be listed.
3. Select the Group
Find the group you want and click View Details.
You can create recurring messages for as many groups as you want. Just repeat the process for each group.
4. Open the message sender
Inside the group details, click Send Message. In the bottom corner, click Recurring Message.
5. Configure the Recurrence
Choose the sending frequency:
| Frequency | Description |
|---|---|
| Daily | The message will be sent every day at the set time |
| Weekly | Choose the days of the week for sending |
| Monthly | The message will be sent once a month |
6. Set the Time
Select the time at which the message will be sent automatically.
7. Write the Message
Type the content of the message that will be sent on a recurring basis.
8. Additional Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Mention Everyone | Sends the message mentioning all group participants (everyone gets a notification) |
| End Date | Sets a date for the campaign to end automatically. If not set, the message will be sent indefinitely |
9. Create the Recurring Message
Click Create to save. Done! Your recurring message is set up.
Tracking Your Messages
After creating the recurring message, you can track everything in the Scheduled Messages tab, where you'll find:
- Scheduled messages — One-time scheduled sends
- Active recurring messages — Your ongoing automations
- Send history — Messages already sent
- Canceled messages — Sends that were canceled
You can cancel any recurring message at any time from the same tab.
Practical Example
Scenario: Send "Good morning, everyone!" every day at 9 AM in the team group.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Frequency | Daily |
| Time | 09:00 |
| Message | Good morning, everyone! |
| Mention Everyone | Yes |
| End Date | No date (sends indefinitely) |
Difference Between Scheduled and Recurring Messages
| Scheduled Message | Recurring Message | |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency | Sent once | Sent repeatedly |
| Setup | Choose a specific date and time | Choose a frequency (daily/weekly/monthly) |
| Ideal for | One-off notices, announcements | Reminders, good-morning, routines |
| End date | Not applicable | Optional |
With STEVO's recurring messages, you don't need to build complex automations in GHL with Custom Webhooks. Everything is done simply and directly from the panel!
